Manure crusts, floating layers and zinc layers are a major problem on livestock farms. Manure is non-homogeneous and can hardly be pumped out of the manure pit and manure silo. Non-homogeneous manure makes it difficult to fertilize the land. Also, the composition differs per load, causing growth differences in a crop.
The lack of life (non-oxygen-loving bacteria) in the manure is the cause of non-homogeneous manure. When we encourage the growth of aerobic (oxygen-loving) bacteria, life enters the manure and the manure gets moving, causing the manure to mix itself and become homogeneous.
